Martin Ludbrook, Pastor

Martin has been leader of Richmond Church since April 2017 and is responsible for leading the preaching and teaching on Sundays, at the mid-week Bible study and has oversight of all the ministries of our church. He also works two days a week in other employment - as an accounts clerk for an accountancy firm and as the bookkeeper for another church in Sheffield.

Originally sent along to church aged 3, to give his parents a few hours of peace and quiet, this was a move that backfired when he came home singing the songs and asking questions about God and faith. Investigating the answers to these questions resulted in Martin’s mum becoming a Christian and Martin came to trust in Jesus Christ as his Saviour a few years later through being consistently taught the Bible and what it meant at church and through her patient answers to his questions.

Martin studied Maths at university and has been a teacher, administrator, youth worker and bursar before taking up his current role. He likes films and good coffee and can usually be found heading in the direction of any cake on the refreshment table.

Ian Boot, Elder

Ian is married to Kay and they have a grown up son. Ian loves a good mug of tea and Marvel films and manages to enjoy these around his work as a partner in an accountancy firm. He is also an enthusiastic advocate for 70s/80s electronic music, even producing his own tracks in his spare time. He has, however, never managed to persuade the youth group of the debt of gratitude that modern music owes to Kraftwerk.

Ian & Kay are also our Treasurers.

Bob Lawson, Elder

Bob has been an elder at Richmond for many years. He is married to Lynda and they have two grown up children and one grandson. Bob worked in quality control for a local business until he retired and enjoys spending his free time either at the gym or playing golf.
